Finally, a new sensation activity "SANDBOX" has opened on Izu Oshima! A sand bath using natural stone ceramic balls. (Also called a sand bath) A little different from a sauna, this sand bath uses "ceramic beads" that have excellent detoxifying effects. Ceramic beads are made by processing Amaterasu stone into ceramic balls with a diameter of 3 mm, baking them at a high temperature of 1000℃, and spreading them in the bathtub. This is an experiential tour where you will experience calligraphy, one of Japan's proud artistic cultures, and create two works of art. Each participant will receive a piece of work created by our instructor. Original and not a print. The type to display on your desk comes with a frame as shown in the photo. You will practice how to hold a brush, basic vertical lines, horizontal lines, sweeps, dots, etc., and we will create two works of art that you can display in your home. In a small conference room, you will experience the basic techniques of calligraphy under the guidance of an instructor. You will finish by creating 1-2 pieces of work that you can display at home. This is a 6km walking tour that starts from the north exit of Shimoakatsuka Station on the Tobu Tojo Line and ends at Nishi-Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line. We will visit Akatsuka Botanical Garden, Tokyo Great Buddha, Akatsuka Fudo Falls, Itabashi Art Museum, Akatsuka Castle Ruins Park, and Itabashi Local Museum. At the botanical garden, you can see beautiful seasonal flowers such as camellias, plums, cherry blossoms, roses, sunflowers, tulips, and cosmos, as well as Japanese gardens, bamboo groves, and recreated forests. The Tokyo Great Buddha is a very large Buddha statue, measuring 13 meters from its pedestal and its head measuring 3 meters. Akatsuka Fudo Falls (a small spring water about 1 meter high) is a place where Shugendo perform purification before training. Itabashi Art Museum (admission fee of about 700 yen is not included in the tour cost), which has themed exhibitions depending on the season, Akatsuka Castle ruins, life from primitive times to the present, and farmhouses built over 100 years ago. We will also take a walk and tour the Itabashi Local Museum where the exhibits are on display. The route from Shimoakatsuka Station to the botanical garden passes through narrow alleys and stairs.
