Finally, a new sensation activity "SANDBOX" has opened on Izu Oshima! A sand bath using natural stone ceramic balls. (Also called a sand bath) A little different from a sauna, this sand bath uses "ceramic beads" that have excellent detoxifying effects. Ceramic beads are made by processing Amaterasu stone into ceramic balls with a diameter of 3 mm, baking them at a high temperature of 1000℃, and spreading them in the bathtub. Sand baths are attracting attention in the medical field for their ability to activate cells, improve skin beauty and weight loss, and relieve stiff shoulders, joint pain, and atopic dermatitis. This is an experiential tour where you will experience calligraphy, one of Japan's proud artistic cultures, and create two works of art. Each participant will receive a piece of work created by our instructor. Original and not a print. The type to display on your desk comes with a frame as shown in the photo. Larger types are available only in kind. You will practice how to hold a brush, basic vertical lines, horizontal lines, sweeps, dots, etc., and we will create two works of art that you can display in your home. One will be a large piece to hang on the wall, and one will be a small piece to hang on a desk or table. The instructor is a master calligrapher and professional calligrapher certified by the Japan Educational Calligraphy Federation, and the host of the calligraphy class. Please join us on this experiential tour where you can experience calligraphy, create your own work, and even get professional work. We will tour the famous Sugamo Togenuki Jizo statue, Koganji Temple, and experience washing the Kannon statue, which has the benefits of health and longevity. We will also take a look at Shinshoji Temple's large copper-made Jizo Bodhisattva seated statue (Edo Roku Jizo), which is very unusual and is wearing an umbrella. It is possible to take pictures of both the Kannon statue washing experience and the Jizo Bodhisattva statue. Take a train or taxi to Rikugien Garden. Rikugien is a vast Japanese garden measuring 88,000 square meters (approximately 300 meters x 300 meters), and is a very beautiful garden that expresses the sea, land, mountains, and lakes. Participants can experience a mini-hike. At the teahouse on the shore of a vast pond, you can enjoy matcha and Japanese sweets while looking out at the beautiful scenery. The schedule will be: Meet at JR Sugamo Station - Visit Jizo Bodhisattva - Visit Koganji Temple - Wash Kannon experience - Move to Rikugien Garden - Walk around Rikugien Garden - Disband at JR Komagome Station. It will be a walking tour of approximately 2 hours.
