Let's search for and catch underwater creatures that you can't usually see in the river near the popular ballpark, S-Con Field! The Watatsu River is a first-class river with a length of 14.2 kilometers that originates in Kamiwatatsu, Kitahiroshima City, and flows into the Chitose River. The town of Kitahiroshima began in 1884 when 25 households and 103 people who moved from Hiroshima Prefecture settled along this river. If you rummage through the bushes with a dip net, you will see various aquatic creatures. The river is just under 15 kilometers long, but you will be interested in the diverse creatures. Depending on the season, there will be guides from students studying aquatic life at a vocational school, so you can ask them about various things. You can learn about the rich water environment of Kitahiroshima and the Ishikari region, and our water activities can be used as a project for elementary school students' independent research or as a way to enjoy playing safely near the water.

Otaru Blue Cave Attraction Cruise on a high-speed boat! This great value plan includes the same Blue Cave cruise as during the day, plus a sunset cruise if the weather is clear. During the summer, the light is strong, so the cave remains a beautiful blue even after 6pm!! All photos shown are from the evening tour, with no editing required. The overall brightness changes on the way there and back, and you can even see the sunset, so there are plenty of photo opportunities. This experience is a kind of boat called "inflatable kayak", and you can enjoy rowing a calm river or flat lake surface with a tool called "paddle" with a board called "blade" on both ends. The hull is designed to be inflated with air, so it has excellent mobility and transportability, and when deflated, it becomes smaller than a tent, making it a compact vehicle that can be easily transported even in a passenger car. Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch: On December 28, 1943, a large earthquake occurred near Mt. Usu on the shores of Lake Toya. Volcanic activity continued until September 10, 1945, and there were 17 relatively active volcanic events in two years. In commemoration of this volcanic activity, a new volcano with an elevation of 398 meters was designated a Special Natural Monument in 1957 and named "Showa Shinzan". It is located near Lake Toya and was formed about 10,000 years ago. White smoke still comes out of the area about 450 meters in diameter, and no grass grows. There is a strong smell of sulfur. Noboribetsu Jigokudani was named for its hell-like atmosphere. ▼Oyunuma is a crater formed by the eruption of Mt. Hiyori. Sulfur springs at about 130 degrees gush out from the bottom of the pond, and are the source of the main hot spring inns in Noboribetsu City. There is an observation deck here, where you can look at the steaming lake in front of you, or walk to the lakeside to experience it up close. Walking around the lake, you can not only smell the sulfur, but also see the source of the hot springs, which are always smoking and bubbling, and the yellow sulfur balls floating on the lake surface are particularly eye-catching. ▼The outdoor foot bath experience requires walking a long mountain path, which is still relatively primitive, but that is probably to protect the original ecosystem.
