Experience the beauty and history of traditional Japanese paper that is over a thousand years old! A workshop where you can experience Japanese paper making. Starting with an explanation of washi making, you can experience how traditional washi is made from wood. In the workshop, we will make postcards with two different designs, Falling Water Paper, and A5 size paper. While the washi is drying, we will offer Japanese sweets along with a unique "washi tea". The mascot cat “Kami” will always welcome you at the shop! ~Procedure of the experience~ ① Briefly explain the flow of the workshop (5 minutes) We will briefly explain the raw materials for washi paper. ②Experience the process of making washi paper, including ``peeling'' the outer layer of the mulberry tree and ``beating'' the wood fibers. (20 minutes) We will briefly introduce the process of making washi paper with a demonstration. ③Handmade washi paper making (60 to 80 minutes) A total of 4 sheets of postcard size (fortune, gauze, falling water) and A5 size washi ④Press and dry by machine. You can come empty-handed and try the tea ceremony wearing a kimono. After enjoying sweets and tea while enjoying the atmosphere of a tea ceremony, you will actually shake the tea whisk and make tea.
