During the snowy season, you will walk through Shiretoko National Park, a World Heritage Site, on snowshoes. If there is no snow, you will walk without snowshoes. You will walk through natural forests and see waterfalls and giant icicles flowing into the Sea of Okhotsk, and depending on the season, drift ice. You can mainly observe Ezo deer and wild birds. You may also see eagles, woodpeckers, and flying squirrels, which are designated as natural monuments. Departing from Asahikawa Station! This is a snowshoe hiking tour that takes you around Mt. Asahidake from Daisetsuzan Ropeway Sugatami Station. A professional guide will give you various lectures on the key points of winter mountain hiking. This tour is recommended for those who want to make their snowshoeing debut. After arriving at Sugatami Station using the ropeway, put on your snowshoes and take a walk through the vast, pure white snowfield. If the weather is good, you can see the snow-covered Mt. Asahidake. After descending the mountain, you can stop at a hot spring if you wish.
