[Chitose River Cruise] It's about a 20-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and you'll be surprised to see such rich nature in such a place... The Chitose River makes you think so. You'll go down with a guide while watching the fish peeking out of the crystal clear water and the small birds flying through the trees. We'll talk about a lot of things, such as Hokkaido's wildlife and vegetation, Ainu culture, and the history of development, while enjoying the breeze of nature. [Short course only available in winter] Chitose in winter is below freezing even during the day! It's extremely cold, but there are many beauties that can only be seen in such a harsh environment. The course is a canoe tour of about 2.5 kilometers from under the highway overpass that runs through the town of Chitose to the area near the Chitose City Sports Center! The snowy scenery spreads out on the riverbank with a good view, and wild deer gather along the quiet river, and you can see salmon running upstream, which is becoming a symbol of the Chitose River, until around February! The experience lasts 30 to 40 minutes, and it takes about an hour from meeting to disbanding. *The tour may vary depending on the weather and river conditions on the day. *Most tours are conducted below freezing, so please take proper cold weather precautions. *Safety is our number one priority, so the tour may be canceled due to weather or other reasons. You can relax in a canoe made by craftsmen using construction methods and designs from 120 years ago. The guide will give a thorough lecture on the calm water with almost no water current, so even first-timers can participate with confidence. Drinks and snacks will be provided during breaks along the way.

[Standard course] The journey is about 5.5 kilometers from the meeting point, Daiichi Usakumai Bridge, to under the highway overpass. The nature-rich Chitose River is home to wild birds such as kingfishers, crested kingfishers, and the recently popular long-tailed tit. Kingfishers sometimes even guide you... You can experience the thrill of a natural river, going over waves and passing through a tunnel of trees that protrude into the river! For those who need winter clothing, we offer Rental(2200 yen) for 1 set (cold wear top and bottom, shoes, gloves, hat). When you ’re ready, you ’ll start with a lecture on how to ride a canoe, how to row, and what to watch out for. After the lecture, board the connected canoe and depart. The guide also rides the same canoe, so even those who are worried about rowing a canoe can enjoy the Canadian canoe tour with confidence. During the tour, you can enjoy a lake that changes according to the situation, such as a thin frozen lake surface or a sherbet-shaped lake surface. You can also see the ice ice that splashes on the shore and fallen trees. During the tour, it will be teatime with warm tea and cake. You can enjoy a relaxing time in a quiet lake.
