That is why so many ammonites and plant fossils are discovered in the geological formations of Hokkaido. The Yubari Mountains on the west side of Furano are a treasure trove of fossils. This is a full-scale MTB tour that starts from the top of the caldera's outer rim of Lake Mashu and gently descends to Kaminoko Pond filled with emerald green water!
