With gorgeous hats decorated with safflowers, the dancers perform a dynamic dance to the tune of "Hanagasa Ondo". The shouts are "Yasso, makasho". The "Yamagata Hanagasa Festival" held from August 5th to 7th is one of the "Four Great Tohoku Festivals" and is counted among the largest festivals in Tohoku along with "Sendai Tanabata", "Aomori Nebuta", and "Akita Kanto". 〇 Hanagasa Ondo Performance of "Soka" (Soka on Four Sides) 〇 "Soka" is the name of the Yamagata University Hanagasa Circle. It was launched in 2003 and has since expanded in size, and is now a group made up of over 100 students from Yamagata University. In terms of activities, we participate every year in the "Yamagata Hanagasa Festival" held in early August, and if requested by customers, we will participate in and dance at events all over the country. The venue is the Yamagata restaurant "Yozanro," where kaiseki cuisine is served in a spacious large hall. The restaurant is said to have been named "Yozanro" after Hirobumi Ito, who saw the mountains on all four sides from the inner room on the second floor.
