Our ancestors were shinobi samurai who started to serve Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate) in 1582. The clan served the shogunate for 265 years. In 1868, the clan declined the invitation from the Meiji Government and became independent. We are the only lasting shinobi clan in Japan. We invite you to come to our clan dojo where real master practitioner and professional interpreters take charge of all workshops and seminars. This is good for people who want to get a deeper insight into our ninja and samurai cultures . We still handcraft our tools and weapons. Feel free to ask any questions as we have kept our shinobi samurai tradition for over 450 years.Our ancestors trained locals and their servants to be shinobi.(Ninja is a new word used in movies. Footwear (Japanese wooden sandals, geta) and a traditional handbag complete the dressing experience. Kimono Rental Shop Yui offers a wide range of kimonos, from easy-to-wear light kimonos for walking around the city to traditionally made silk kimonos for formal occasions. The owner is a trained tea ceremony artist and will complement the experience with a short lesson on how to drink matcha tea according to Japanese tradition. For the rest of the day, feel free to wander the beautiful streets of the Asakusa district at your own pace until 5:30 PM, when you will return your kimono. If you choose the photo shoot option, a professional photographer will accompany you and show you the most photogenic spots around Sensoji Temple and the Sumida River. The session will last 60 minutes and your photos will be sent to you for editing and download within a week.

Would you like to make your own original washi notebook? Japanese binding is a traditional Japanese bookbinding technique that uses high-quality Japanese paper and linen thread, and has been passed down since the Heian period (794). In the workshop, we will start with ``Japanese paper dyeing'', which involves adding color to Japanese paper to create the cover of a notebook. ①Make the cover of your notebook by coloring Japanese paper. You can either fold the washi paper and dye it in color, or use a paper pattern to dye it. ② Applying the Japanese binding technique, assemble the inside of the notebook (*) and the cover of the notebook with embroidery thread. The size of the notebook is A6 (105 x 148.5 mm). Your one and only Japanese-bound notebook will be completed. At the end, we will serve Japanese sweets along with "Japanese paper tea" that is not available anywhere else! We hope that you will enjoy the beauty and depth of Japanese paper through this workshop. Learn basic washi ink techniques and washi paper cutting, and create your own original washi art work (one postcard and A5 size washi art). Washi ink is an original design tool. Ink is made by melting colored washi paper. By using that ink, you can make your art colorful. By the way, when was the last time you wrote a letter? Write a letter to your loved ones using the postcard you created! (Stationery will also be provided). While waiting for the paper to dry, relax with the world's one and only original "Japanese paper tea" and local Japanese sweets.
