You can enjoy the experience of wearing armor at Shiroishi Castle in Shiroishi, Miyagi Prefecture. "Ashigaru-san" will dress you in authentic armor modeled after Date Masamune, Katakura Kojuro Kagetsuna, and Sanada Yukimura. This is special armor that you cannot wear normally. You will also wear a kosode, hakama, and tabi socks to wear underneath, and the tabi socks will be given to you as a commemorative gift after the experience. Shiroishi Castle is probably the only place where you can wear authentic armor inside a real castle.
