The main focus will be on large birds of prey, such as Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as natural monuments and visit Shiretoko in winter. You can use binoculars and telescopes to observe their fearless faces as they stare intently at the sea and rivers, searching for prey, and you may even see them diving into the sea to hunt fish. During this tour, you may also encounter Ezo deer and red foxes. *The number of eagles seen will decrease from mid- to late March. *The tour will mainly be by car, but we will occasionally get off the car to observe. The tree represents the shape of a star, that is, the name is related to a Christmas tree without decorations. This Christmas tree, which is beautiful day and night regardless of the season, is one of the most popular trees in Biei. ★ When taking photos, please "step back" and stand on the asphalt road to take a look. Let's start a beautiful journey today Noboribetsu (about 60 minutes) In the ruins of a volcano in Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, there remains a grassy area with a diameter of about 450 meters formed about 10,000 years ago. Noboribetsu Jigokudani got its name because it smells of sulfur and looks like you are in hell. Oyunuma is the remains of a crater formed when Hiyoriyama erupted, and sulfur springs at about 130 degrees gush out from the bottom of the pond, which is the source of Noboribetsu's main hot spring inns. There is an observation deck here where you can see the steaming lake right in front of you, and you can also walk around and experience the lake up close. As you walk around the lake, you can smell the sulfur, and you can see the hot springs that are always smoking and bubbling, and the yellow sulfur balls floating on the lake's surface are particularly noticeable. To experience a foot bath in nature, you have to walk a long mountain path. The mountain path is probably to protect the primitive ecosystem, but the view is worth the trip. The actual scenery is much more beautiful than in the photos. In winter, scenic spots are closed due to road conditions. Sightseeing around Lake Toya (approximately 120 minutes including free lunch time, the order of tours may change depending on traffic conditions, pick-up and drop-off conditions, and length of stay) Showa Shinzan Wakuma Ranch (60 minutes): On December 28, 1943, a strong earthquake occurred near Mount Usu on the shores of Lake Toya. As a result, a volcano erupted, and the ground rose rapidly to form a tall mountain. Volcanic activity As of September 10, 1945, there had been 17 relatively active volcanic activities in two years. To commemorate this volcanic activity, this new volcano, 398 meters above sea level, was designated a Special Natural Monument in 1957 and named Showa Shinzan. It is a "new mountain" that continues to grow even today, and white smoke can be seen constantly rising from the red-brown mountains. 8 Impressive Views of Lake Toya (10 minutes): Lake Toya, a freshwater lake in southwestern Hokkaido. A caldera lake. It has a diameter of about 10 km, is almost circular, and has an area of 70.72 sq km. Circumference 50 km. Deepest point 180.0 meters. Average water depth 117.0 meters. Water storage capacity 8.19 cubic kilometers. The lake is at an elevation of 84 meters. It is the northernmost ice-free lake in Japan. Lake Toya Observatory (10 min): A freshwater lake in southwestern Hokkaido. Near Uchiura Bay. Part of Shikotsu-Toya National Park. Caldera lake. Otaru (about 90 minutes, free dinner) Surrounded by red brick and gray tile warehouses built since the Meiji era, this is the only European-style place in Japan where you can stroll along the old canal streets with your family and friends in a tranquil atmosphere. [Kitayoshi Glass Art Museum] is famous for its glass workshop where you can see intricate and diverse glass crafts, and [Music Box Museum] exhibits more than 1,000 types of music boxes from around the world, allowing you to be surrounded by music.

When you think of Kushiro, many people will immediately think of red-crowned cranes. The sight of red-crowned cranes in winter is truly spectacular. There is no doubt that the beauty of the cranes against the snowy fields will impress anyone. There are places near Kushiro where you can see red-crowned cranes even in summer. Near Kushiro Airport are the Red-crowned Crane Nature Park and Kushiro City Zoo. You can learn a lot about red-crowned cranes and see them all year round. If you are lucky, you may find a zookeeper there who will call you close to them. Kushiro City Zoo is also home to the Red-crowned Crane Conservation and Breeding Center. - Example - Kushiro Airport ⇒ Red-crowned Crane Nature Park ⇒ Kushiro Marsh Observation Deck ⇒ Kushiro City

You can see many red-crowned cranes in eastern Hokkaido around Kushiro, and here you can see the red-crowned cranes vs. food thieves, which you can't see at other feeding sites. Due to bird flu measures, you can no longer see Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles as much as before, but you can see Ezo deer, swans, white-tailed eagles, etc. trying to steal the food from the red-crowned cranes. When they were feeding the cranes with raw fish, this was the only place in the world where you could see the red-crowned cranes vs. eagles fighting over food. (Only during feeding time) There is an admission fee to the Akan International Crane Center (480 yen for adults). I hope that one day I will be able to see the same scene again. Please contact us for details, such as combinations with the Kushiro Station ⇒ Akan International Crane Center ⇒ Kushiro City Tsurui Course.

As the name of the place suggests, Tsurui Village is the best place to see cranes. You can see cranes in a variety of places, such as cranes landing on pure white snow fields, cranes flying in blue skies, and cranes in the river. Kushiro has many sunny days in the winter, so you can take better photos. In the evening, you can also see the cranes, dyed in the setting sun, flying in formation to their roosts. This course takes you all around the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park established and the largest naturally rich low-lying marsh in Japan with the largest horizontal extent. View the Kushiro Marsh from the eastern (western) observation deck, then walk along an unpaved road to the western (eastern) observation deck. If you are confident in your time and stamina, there are also some places you can walk (or climb?) to see, such as the Kottaro Marsh Observation Deck, Sarubo Observation Deck, and Yumegaoka Observation Deck. Along the way, you might encounter red-crowned cranes, Ezo deer, or Ezo red foxes (which appear irregularly).

From Hosooka Observatory (east side), you can see the Kushiro Marsh and the meandering Kushiro River in the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park and the largest naturally rich low-lying marsh in Japan with a horizontal spread. The view from Hosooka Observatory, also known as the "Great View," is spectacular, and on a clear day you can see the Akan Mountains. Watching the sunset from Hosooka Observatory has also become popular recently. The untouched Hosooka Observatory is an observation deck that cannot be reached by large tourist buses. There is also a course that combines the Norokko train ride, where you can ride one way through the marsh from Kushiro city to Hosooka Observatory to Kushiro city, and then take a taxi back to see the Kushiro Marsh from a different angle.
