The giant straw sandals (12m long) at Haguro Shrine, one of the three Shinobu mountains (Mount Shinobu), are said to be the largest in Japan, and have been dedicated since ancient times at the Akatsuki Mairi festival every February in prayer for good walking. It is said that the origins of the giant straw sandals lie in the Niomon gate at Haguro Shrine, where straw sandals were made to fit the size of the Nio statues enshrined there. Later, people setting out on long journeys such as pilgrimages to Ise Shrine began to offer them in prayer for good walking and a safe journey. In recent years, people have also prayed for good health, bountiful harvests, safety in the home, and prosperity in business. The Akatsuki Mairi festival every February is a traditional festival that has been passed down for over 400 years since the Edo period, and giant straw sandals (currently only one foot worth) are dedicated. The Fukushima Waraji Festival originated from this "Akatsuki Mairi" and is held every year from the first Friday to Sunday in August as a festival to protect the tradition of Japan's largest straw sandals, promote local consciousness, enjoy the short Tohoku summer, and provide a place for citizens to relax. In addition, by donating a large straw sandal (one pair), the two donated to the "Akatsuki Mairi" make up a pair (both pairs), which also carries the meaning of praying for even stronger legs.

We will tour the farmer's fields and houses and work while having the farmer teach us. The fun that can only be had in winter is waiting for you there. Our tours are smaller than typical guided tours. We have a small group system with no more than 9 customers per guide. This is a tour for adults that focuses on nature observation, with a low impact on nature and attentive guide service, allowing you to leisurely explore the swamps that emit a mysterious glow. The afternoon course is Haregasaya Activities' original course (approximately 2.5km round trip) that runs along the east side from Bishamon-numa, where the green color stands out, to Midoronuma-numa. We will guide you to places that can only be accessed in winter, scenery that can only be seen in winter, and special places.

Urabandai's powder snow is this area. A quiet and deep forest that tramples on the snow of a fluffy puff. A beech forest with bear's claw marks on the footprints of an antelope. Lake Onogawa in Urabandai, which was created by the great eruption of Mt. Bandai in 1888, has exceptional beauty. The Onogawa spring water that flows through the upstream Onogawa Fudo Falls has the highest water quality and has been selected as one of the 100 best waters. A polite lecture on land will unravel your tension. Using the latest model kayaks and paddles, it invites you to improve comfortably and comfortably. The cove where the smelt migrate is the starting point, and there is little wind, making it a safe field for beginners. The only lake in Urabandai where you can't see any man-made objects if you row out to sea.
