The area is covered with broadleaf trees such as Japanese maples, maples, and beeches, and is a famous spot for autumn leaves that turn bright red every fall. It is said that the name Akashiba Gorge came from the fact that it was called the "Red Wall of Japan." The Arakawa River, where the gorge is located, looks like a rapid when viewed from National Route 113, but on this tour, you will canoe in a relatively calm area surrounded by granite. The field has a different flow than canoeing on a lake, which makes you feel nervous. After warming up, you will paddle upstream against the flow of the river in the first half. With a break in between, you will canoe down the valley in the second half.
