Would you like to make your own original washi notebook? Japanese binding is a traditional Japanese bookbinding technique that uses high-quality Japanese paper and linen thread, and has been passed down since the Heian period (794). In the workshop, we will start with ``Japanese paper dyeing'', which involves adding color to Japanese paper to create the cover of a notebook. ①Make the cover of your notebook by coloring Japanese paper. You can either fold the washi paper and dye it in color, or use a paper pattern to dye it. ② Applying the Japanese binding technique, assemble the inside of the notebook (*) and the cover of the notebook with embroidery thread. The size of the notebook is A6 (105 x 148.5 mm). Your one and only Japanese-bound notebook will be completed. At the end, we will serve Japanese sweets along with "Japanese paper tea" that is not available anywhere else! We hope that you will enjoy the beauty and depth of Japanese paper through this workshop. Sharp tools will be used in the workshop. *The contents of the Japanese paper notebook use existing inkjet Japanese paper. The cover is handmade Japanese paper from our shop.

You can experience calligraphy, a traditional Japanese culture, using real tools. Unlike the calligraphy sets you can buy at shopping malls or schools, we use calligraphy tools procured from traditional calligraphy shops, so it's perfect for those who want to get a taste of the real thing and Japanese culture. This plan is available in Japanese, English, Spanish, and Italian. Most calligraphy experiences take 60 to 90 minutes, but the JanDara calligraphy experience takes 180 minutes. You can communicate well with other calligraphers. Approximately 10 minutes from anywhere from Haneda Airport, Shinagawa, or Yokohama! We will rent Ota Sangyo Plaza PiO, which is a 3-minute walk from the station. This is a spacious 40 tatami Japanese-style room that can accommodate up to 54 people, where you can sit in a sitting position or sit on a horigotatsu (horizontal kotatsu) and do calligraphy with your feet down. If you are not comfortable sitting up straight, you can stretch your legs and participate in a relaxed state. For those who would like to experience the numbness of their legs while sitting seiza like an authentic Japanese person, we will prepare them so that they can experience it sitting seiza. When deciding which characters to write on colored paper, teach them the Japanese meaning. Creating Japanese names together will be a lot of fun! At the end of the experience, you will eat Japanese sweets. You can take the completed work home with you. Not only that, you can scan your work and hand it over as data, so you can post it on SNS, make a record, make an announcement, or create materials. You can also make original T-shirts and mugs in your own country since the data will remain in your possession!

Unlike the calligraphy sets you can buy at shopping malls or schools, we use calligraphy tools procured from traditional calligraphy shops, so it's perfect for those who want to get a taste of the real thing and Japanese culture. This plan will be conducted in Japanese. This is for international students to improve their Japanese and to have more communication with their host families and companions who understand Japanese. (You can bring up to 4 companions with each application for free.) Most calligraphy experiences usually take 60 to 90 minutes, but the JanDara calligraphy experience takes 120 minutes. You can enjoy the experience and communicate with Japanese people, not just "written with a brush". We will rent Ota Sangyo Plaza PiO, which is about 10 minutes from Haneda Airport, Shinagawa, and Yokohama, and a 3-minute walk from the station. This is a spacious 40 tatami Japanese-style room that can accommodate up to 54 people, where you can sit in a sitting position or sit on a horigotatsu (horizontal kotatsu) and do calligraphy with your feet down. It is quite difficult to enjoy this atmosphere at home or school. When deciding on the characters to write on the colored paper, it's a great way to make a Japanese name together while teaching the meaning of the Japanese word! At the end of the experience, you will eat Japanese sweets. You can take the completed work home with you. Not only that, you can scan your work and hand it over as data, so you can post it on SNS, make a record, make an announcement, or create materials. Enjoy making a cup with a constellation appearing on its surface. It is a modern adaptation of the traditional technique known as Hotarute, and when a light is placed inside, the light shines through and appears. Once the shape is created by hand-forming (making the board), the constellation is inserted and the piece is complete. Our staff will provide you with careful support. There is a coordinate template for the 12 constellations, so it is easy to determine the hole positions. Our staff will assist you with the other constellations. ■ Course Outline 1. Preparation and Explanation (10 minutes) 2. Hand-forming (30 minutes) 3. Drawing the constellation and drilling holes (20 minutes) 4. Firing and completion 2 months later * Glazing and firing are left to us
