"Studio Seikan" is a facility with a workshop, shop and cafe, where you can visit the manufacturing site of Yamanaka lacquerware, experience woodturning, shop, and enjoy cafe and sweets with lacquerware. This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Next, you will make your own original lacquered chopsticks at the place where the craftsmen actually work. Think about the design of the chopsticks and paint them with real lacquer. You can experience authentic lacquer painting. The lacquer craftsmen will teach you carefully, so you can make them yourself until they are completed. You will surely be satisfied. It's fun. After that, you can enjoy drinks made with lacquerware at the cafe and taste sweets. Please relax and enjoy the lacquerware experience. The Yoshikura district of Tsubata Town is a mountain village located approximately 30 minutes by car from Kanazawa Station. In the mountains behind the Yoshikura settlement, there is a mountain path once used by local residents. The mountain path offers a rich natural environment and attractive spots, including a scenic spot overlooking the village, a bright deciduous broadleaf forest, a place to pick wild vegetables, a reservoir, and a bamboo grove. However, it is now largely deserted, and various issues need to be addressed, such as overgrown vegetation that obscures visibility and the spread of overgrown bamboo. At this event, we will examine the condition of the mountain path and consider the issues. We will then work to restore the path by trimming the vegetation and cutting down bamboo, thereby working to restore the lush satoyama environment. For lunch, we will enjoy delicious mountain produce, including wild vegetables and other locally grown vegetables that we have gathered together.
