No sewing required! Make a pouch with Kamogawa Maiwai-zome fabric! Why not make a pouch with Maiwai-zome fabric, a traditional dye from the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture? The auspicious Maiwai-zome pouch is perfect for festival season! It can be made with the know-how of cokoworks No Sew Clasp (R), which does not require needles or thread, so anyone can make it easily. ★The fabric was dyed by Kamogawa Maiwai-zome Suzuzome! Maiwai is the formal attire worn by fishermen. The back and hem of the indigo-dyed long kimono or hanten are boldly and vividly dyed with auspicious motifs such as cranes and turtles, or designs of fish caught in the area. In the past, they were given to boatmen by shipowners when celebrating a good catch. Nowadays, they are worn as festival hanten by festival lovers all over the country. For this workshop, Kamogawa Maiwai-zome Suzuzome prepared the dyed fabric. We have them dye the Japanese flag and the crane on the indigo-dyed cloth. ★It's very easy because it's a cokoworks no-sew purse (R) that doesn't require needles or thread♪ The person who will teach you how to make a purse at the workshop is Misato Mogi, a certified instructor of the cokoworks no-sew purse (R) that doesn't require needles or thread. She will teach you in an easy-to-understand and fun way! [Event summary] Date and time: Saturday, May 11th, 11:00-13:00 Capacity: 8 people Price: 10,000 yen (tax included) *We have pink and green fabrics for the lining. Since the number is limited, you can choose on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. ***Please note the following before making a reservation*** ・The dyed cloth used in this course is indigo-dyed and is a cloth that has just been dyed.
