Korakukan, a playhouse built in the Meiji era, is still in operation for more than 100 years and still holds regular performances (popular plays, etc.). In the first half of 2024, there will be a boy's review show of "Jun Kanzaki & 10carats" from late April to early June, and "Gekidan Yumeiro" from mid-June to late July, a theater troupe formed just for the Korakukan performance. It's interesting how it's different every year. The second half, from August 3rd to October 27th, is a popular theater performance by Shitamachi Kabuki-gumi. Performances will be performed in rotation for approximately one month each: Chairman Hiroshi Hitomi (Hagata Subaru Toma) → Hanagata Kaito Shingetsu → Chairman Tooru Mitsumine (Hagata Shigeki Takahashi). It is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages, so we have many visitors, including students from elementary school to high school on school trips. The Meiji era playhouse ``Korakukan'' was built in 1910 as a welfare facility for Kosaka Mine employees. The outside of the building is Western-style, but the inside is a purely Japanese-style playhouse. The most distinctive feature is the combination of Japanese and Western styles, which is rare among playhouses. A staff member wearing a Kuroko costume will guide you through the tour of Korakukan's facilities. Enjoy an eye-opening behind-the-scenes look at a living playhouse!

Ready to become an Izakaya Master??Join us for a night of eating and drinking like a Sendai local down the atmospheric back-alleys of Bunka-yokocho and Iroha-yokocho! Undiscovered by most visitors to the city, these alleyways are a step back in time to retro post-war Showa Era Japan. Follow your nose down the lines of hundreds of tiny izakayas (Japanese pubs). As most only sit around 8-10 customers at a time, it can be a little intimidating to enter on your own, but on this tour, you'll be joined by a local guide! Let them introduce you to all the best places and help you navigate the language barrier as you eat, drink and chat to the friendly locals. On this tour you'll enjoy a drink of your choice and a plate of local food at three different styles of izakaya. Discover new favourites and learn to order like a pro!**On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, izakaya tends to be very crowded, so you will visit two instead of three during the tour. You will still enjoy a total of three drinks and the volume/quality of food will be the same.
