You can experience calligraphy, a traditional Japanese culture, using real tools. Unlike the calligraphy sets you can buy at shopping malls or schools, we use calligraphy tools procured from traditional calligraphy shops, so it's perfect for those who want to get a taste of the real thing and Japanese culture. This plan is available in Japanese, English, Spanish, and Italian. Most calligraphy experiences take 60 to 90 minutes, but the JanDara calligraphy experience takes 180 minutes. You can communicate well with other calligraphers. Approximately 10 minutes from anywhere from Haneda Airport, Shinagawa, or Yokohama! We will rent Ota Sangyo Plaza PiO, which is a 3-minute walk from the station. This is a spacious 40 tatami Japanese-style room that can accommodate up to 54 people, where you can sit in a sitting position or sit on a horigotatsu (horizontal kotatsu) and do calligraphy with your feet down. If you are not comfortable sitting up straight, you can stretch your legs and participate in a relaxed state. For those who would like to experience the numbness of their legs while sitting seiza like an authentic Japanese person, we will prepare them so that they can experience it sitting seiza. When deciding which characters to write on colored paper, teach them the Japanese meaning. Creating Japanese names together will be a lot of fun! At the end of the experience, you will eat Japanese sweets. You can take the completed work home with you. Not only that, you can scan your work and hand it over as data, so you can post it on SNS, make a record, make an announcement, or create materials. You can also make original T-shirts and mugs in your own country since the data will remain in your possession!

★ COOL HIROSHIMA ★ Japanese calligraphy is an artistic form of writing with a brush and ink to express your mind. As a traditional visual art, people look at the calligraphy and appreciate the beauty and impressions of characters and their meanings. Unlike paintings or other writings, you have only one chance to write with a brush. The brush strokes cannot be corrected or even rewritten. Usually, you need to sit straight on the floor and focus on calligraphy, but in this plan we provide tables and chairs for overseas visitors as they may find it difficult to sit on the floor. Our school is located in central Hiroshima and easy to access, come stop by on your visit to this area if time permits between your sightseeing programs. As a memory of your Hiroshima trip, join our special Japanese calligraphy experience offered by a professional instructor. ※English speaking guide is available. ※ Gift brush and plain folding fan included.

The calligraphy of death is something that a samurai writes down with a brush as his last words in this world when he foresees his death. (Death refers to leaving this world) Customers can write their favorite kanji. You can select a character (kanji) and write it with an extra-large brush on SAMURAI paper (16 times the size of normal hanshi), which is made by combining two sheets of hanshi paper that is 8 times the size of normal hanshi paper. (Example) Yukimura Sanada's death note, ``If you go to live in an indefinite floating world, you will not know what will happen one day later.'' (In such an unstable world, we do not know what will happen tomorrow. Please think of Naniwa as something that doesn't exist in this world.'' Toyotomi Hideyoshi's deathbed writings, ``The dew falls, the dew falls and disappears.'' I wonder if Naniwa is also a dream within a dream (I became a citizen, but the dew fell and disappeared.) It was a life that seemed to disappear.)

*The campaign with Japanese sweets and drinks will end on April 30, 2024. Do you know the "Kanji of the Year" announced every December at Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto? This is a performance in which the "Kanji of the Year" character, which represents the state of the world for the year, is written large with a brush. "Taisho" means "to write large so that it is particularly noticeable." You can experience this large calligraphy performance at the popular Japanese culture experience cafe in Asakusa. There is no limit to the characters you can write. Please write your free ideas with a brush. Creative calligrapher Koji Takano will carefully teach you, so even beginners can feel at ease. Of course, you can take the finished work home with you. You can face "calligraphy" by yourself and become an artist. You can also deepen your friendship with your family or friends. Create a warm, original calligraphy piece that is one of a kind in the world. In this experience, you will not learn the stroke order or the strokes, but rather enrich your imagination and stimulate your brain to create your own unique "kanji" art piece. First, think of the kanji you want to write and the scenery (picture) that inspires you. If you can't decide on an idea, you can refer to the collection of ideas by creative calligrapher Koji Takano. Once you have decided on an idea, use ink and paint to practice brush strokes and composition. Finally, write it down on a colored paper or fan for the actual performance, and your masterpiece will be completed. The teacher, Kayo, teaches us in plain English. The content was enjoyable for both foreigners and Japanese. The food of Kayo’s husband was also very delicious. This plan will be conducted in Japanese. This is for international students to improve their Japanese and to have more communication with their host families and companions who understand Japanese. (You can bring up to 4 companions with each application for free.) Most calligraphy experiences usually take 60 to 90 minutes, but the JanDara calligraphy experience takes 120 minutes. You can enjoy the experience and communicate with Japanese people, not just "written with a brush". We will rent Ota Sangyo Plaza PiO, which is about 10 minutes from Haneda Airport, Shinagawa, and Yokohama, and a 3-minute walk from the station. This is a spacious 40 tatami Japanese-style room that can accommodate up to 54 people, where you can sit in a sitting position or sit on a horigotatsu (horizontal kotatsu) and do calligraphy with your feet down. It is quite difficult to enjoy this atmosphere at home or school. When deciding on the characters to write on the colored paper, it's a great way to make a Japanese name together while teaching the meaning of the Japanese word! At the end of the experience, you will eat Japanese sweets. You can take the completed work home with you. Not only that, you can scan your work and hand it over as data, so you can post it on SNS, make a record, make an announcement, or create materials. Since the data remains at hand, you can do something wonderful, such as giving a T-shirt or mug with the characters printed on it, years later!

You can learn Japanese culture through calligraphy and know the wonders of Japan. Once you can write Japanese, you can use a calligraphy brush to write anything you like on a T-shirt. This allows you to go home wearing a t-shirt on the spot so you don't have to ship it overseas. In the calligraphy class, you will first learn about the history of calligraphy by explaining the brushes and touching on Japanese culture. The teacher treats each student with care, so everyone can understand and write calligraphy. Once you can write Japanese well, you can create your own original T-shirt by writing whatever you want on the T-shirt. One T-shirt is included in the experience fee. You can continue sightseeing wearing your original T-shirt, or use it as a gift for your family and friends.
