Plan description

A fishing boat cruise around Nushima Island, located southeast of Awaji Island. Nushima is known as the setting for the Japanese myth "The Legend of Onokoro." This is a one-hour course where you can get a feel for Japan's ancient legends, history, and origins while explaining Japanese mythology and looking at rocks related to it. After the cruise, enjoy a seafood bowl made with fresh seafood at a restaurant. This is an activity that allows you to experience Japanese mythology and nature.

A 1-hour cruise that brings you into contact with Japanese mythology

We will go around Nushima on a fishing boat. The boat is operated by a local veteran fisherman who knows the terrain and tidal currents. Nushima is dotted with strangely shaped rocks and reefs that appear in Japanese mythology, and your guide will explain them to you.

Enjoy fresh seafood for lunch

After the cruise, enjoy a seafood rice bowl made with fresh seafood (closed on Wednesdays. If the cruise is closed, a different menu is available).

Walking guide available as an option

As an option, we also offer a guide introducing Onokoro Shrine in Nushima. We will introduce the myth of the birth of the country and the history of the shrine's construction. (about 1 hour)

Please enter "Nada-Habu Port", "Numashima Kisen Pier", "Numashima Kisen", etc. There are few boats from Awaji Island to Numashima, so please check the departure time in advance to avoid missing the boat.
