Plan description

About 150 years ago, 3,000 samurai from the Shonai Clan threw away their swords and cultivated the virgin land in exchange for a hoe, giving birth to the Mastugaoka Kaikonjo(Matsugaoka Reclamation Site).
They then contributed to the development of Japan's silk industry.
Five three-story silkworm houses with distinctive Jyoshu Shimamura-style tiled roofs are still in existence on the vast site, where visitors can feel the samurai spirit.
Nighttime, which is not usually open to the public, is illuminated at night for a limited period of time.

Night tour (in Japanese and English) to Matsugaoka at night while learning the history of the land reclamation site with a guide. Kimono dressing is available as an option, and visitors can take pictures inside the land reclamation site, which is full of Japanese culture.
