Shikwasa chopsticks making experience The wood used is a pruned Shikwasa tree from Ogimi Village. Studio Uruhashi directly enters the mountain and collects it. A friendly craftsman will teach you gently and it is a safe craft, so children from 3 years old can experience it.

★Chopstick making process

・The length and thickness of the chopsticks are determined according to the size of each person's hands. ↓・Pursue the ideal chopstick shape and polish it with sandpaper. ↓・The name is hardened into the finished chopsticks with an electric iron. ↓・Apply linseed oil to complete. ★If you answer the original chopsticks quiz, we will give you a chopstick rest and a wooden spatula for cooking.

[About the experience venue, Yamahara Kogeiten (former Kijoka Elementary School)]

Utilizing the site of the former Kijoka Elementary School, which closed six years ago, it is a complex facility with Yanbaru craft shops, tenants such as Ichimushido, a hammock workshop, and a woodwork workshop. Events such as screenings and fairs are also held. Accommodation is scheduled to open in the fall.
