The theater company Warabi-za, which celebrated its 70th anniversary, has performed based in Akita, imitating the traditional performing arts of Akita, Tohoku, and various parts of Japan. In recent years, he has performed 250 times a year in original musicals depicting characters from Akita and Tohoku. Akita Art Village is home to the theater company, and has a large theater, a small theater and a rehearsal hall, a hotel, a hot spring, a local beer factory, a forest crafts hall, a garden and a blueberry plantation on the premises of the two Tokyo Domes.
