This is an authentic tea ceremony experience offered at a 1000-year-old tea room of the Daisho-in. The tea room is very small, only 3 tatami mats in size and with no lights as it was built in accordance with a formal planning and construction. Arrangements of rooms and design, building materials have all been kept from the time it was first built, so simply to see or sit in this tea room can be a valuable experience. Hanging scroll and flowers displayed in tokonoma, tea tools including kettle and bowls. Sweets, tea, an instructor wearing kimono, tea room manners to show respect to the guests. This little space is packed with traditional necessities of life: food, clothing and shelter. Join "ikebana" lesson held at Daisho-in, which is considered to be the oldest temple in Miyajima of Aki. The lesson is held in the sitting room of the temple - a hall with the most beautiful scenic view. While sitting on the tatami-floor, you can see the Seto Inland Sea and Hatsukaichi city on the other side. Experience Japanese traditional culture through colorful flowers in the elegant hall with a long dignified history. Our instructors are local flower artists: Erina Kawakane and Hisae Kuwabara.
