Plan description

The charm of the Shimanto River is that rapids and gentle currents alternate. If you want to ride the current of the Shimanto River and go down the river, we recommend the River SUP experience. Go on an adventure down the Shimanto River while looking at the "submerged bridge" that is synonymous with the Shimanto River and the beautiful river scenery that cannot be seen from the road! It is a course of about 6 km starting from the submerged bridge and returning to Mishima Campsite in half a day, tackling two rapids. Before departure, SIJ and SUPA certified instructors will give a thorough lecture on the basics of SUP and river safety. You will be addicted to the exhilaration of paddling a long distance and riding the rapids! If you are worried about children or others going through rapids, we will respond flexibly, such as having the guide ride the SUP, so please do not worry.

The fun of navigating the river yourself and the sense of adventure of passing under a sunken bridge on a SUP

Natural Groove is the only place on the Shimanto River where you can experience a SUP tour on flowing water! If you are not satisfied with SUP on lakes, oceans, or places with no current, you can experience a different SUP! You can experience the fun of going down the river while controlling it yourself.

Learn the basics of SUP and river safety in a small group tour

Before departing, a SIJ (SUP Instructor Japan) or SUPA (Japan Stand Up Paddle Association) certified instructor will give you a thorough lecture on the basics of SUP and river safety.

Enjoy local snacks and coffee or tea

During breaks during the tour, we will provide you with a selection of drinks, including Kochi specialty "Salted Kenpi", freshly brewed coffee, and more.

Dress code - Must bring items	<Spring/Autumn (April-June/September-November)> Wear a wetsuit and jacket over your swimsuit. On particularly cold or windy days, we will provide a windproof jacket over the wetsuit. <Summer (mid-July-early September)> You can participate in the activity in swimsuit. To prevent scratches from twigs and rocks in the riverbed or river, and to protect against UV rays, we recommend wearing a T-shirt, shorts, long leggings or spats, or a long-sleeved rash guard over your swimsuit. What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, water shoes (with heels and toes covered) if you have them, and a waterproof camera if you want to take photos yourself. <Notes on clothing to bring> Cotton products have high water retention, so once they get wet, they are difficult to dry and become heavy, making them more likely to lose body heat. Therefore, please choose clothes made of synthetic fibers that are less absorbent and quick-drying, such as T-shirts, pants, and clothes made of materials such as polyester and nylon. *Swimsuits and towels are available for rental and sale, so you can participate even if you come empty-handed.

Other notifications	We have prepared drinks and salted kempi, a specialty of Kochi Prefecture, for you to enjoy during breaks during the tour. If you arrive by car

About 40 minutes by car from Shimanto Chuo Interchange Parking: 15 cars, large buses: allowed *For those coming from Shimanto City, Ashizuri, Sukumo Navigation systems often direct you to National Route 439. This is a very narrow and difficult road. Please be careful not to go through this road. Please use National Route 441.
