Plan description

Experience the beauty and history of traditional Japanese paper that is over a thousand years old! A workshop where you can experience Japanese paper making. Starting with an explanation of washi making, you can experience how traditional washi is made from wood. In the workshop, we will make postcards with two different designs, Falling Water Paper, and A5 size paper. While the washi is drying, we will offer Japanese sweets along with a unique "washi tea". The mascot cat “Kami” will always welcome you at the shop! ~Procedure of the experience~ ① Briefly explain the flow of the workshop (5 minutes) We will briefly explain the raw materials for washi paper. ②Experience the process of making washi paper, including ``peeling'' the outer layer of the mulberry tree and ``beating'' the wood fibers. (20 minutes) We will briefly introduce the process of making washi paper with a demonstration. ③Handmade washi paper making (60 to 80 minutes) A total of 4 sheets of postcard size (fortune, gauze, falling water) and A5 size washi ④Press and dry by machine. In the meantime, washi tea time (20 minutes).Wait for it to dry while eating washi tea and Japanese sweets.⑤Complete the surveyAfter completing the survey, we will give you a dried washi postcard and the workshop will end.

You can make special Japanese paper that cannot be made anywhere else.

A total of 4 pieces of Japanese paper: 3 postcard-sized pieces of Japanese paper (one with a fortune, one with gauze, and one with a hole) and 1 piece of A5 size paper.Omikuji are those that have finished their purpose and are either received from shrines or scheduled to be disposed of. This washi paper with gauze fibers can only be made at our shop. Falling water paper is a type of washi paper that has patterns created by dropping water droplets onto wet washi paper. This design is unique because no two pieces of Japanese paper can have the same pattern. It will be dried on the spot using a machine so you can take it home with you.

At our shop, we cultivate Japanese paper from raw materials. You can find out on the spot what it is made from. We will demonstrate the process of how Japanese paper is completed through a number of processes. You can also experience part of it.

The signboard cat of our shop is a calico cat, which is very docile and accustomed to people. It depends on her condition, but maybe we can play together.

他では作れない手すき和紙ポストカードが作れます！ 特におみくじは、他では作ることができません。好きなようにおみくじを飾って完成させることができます。

特別なお茶またはジュースと和菓子がついてきます。 和紙を乾燥させている間、他では飲めない和紙茶もしくは和紙ジュースと和菓子（もしくはお菓子）を飲むことができます。和紙茶とはどんなものかは参加してみてのお楽しみに！

どうやって和紙が作られるか知って体験することができます。 そもそも和紙がどうやって作られているかご存じですか？和紙の原料を皮を剥いたり、叩いたりなどを実演をしながらご紹介。一部、体験もできるかもしれません。

看板猫「かみちゃん」を写真撮影できます。 看板猫「かみちゃん」は、三毛猫のメスで推定6歳です。とても大人しく、ワークショップ中も大体寝ています。彼女の様子によっては背中をそっと撫でることができるかも。
