[Tokyo] A comprehensive samurai experience of swordsmanship and archery in a real dojo---My class is not a tourist trap

During this experience, you will receive a lecture on Japanese swords, learn kata (cutting techniques), practice sparring, test-fire a bow and arrow, and try slashing with a mock sword. During the test-slash, you will slash multiple targets while moving with the mock sword. Slashing while moving is extremely difficult. Please experience the difficulty for yourself! Your instructor will be Yoshioki Sumida, assistant instructor of the All Japan Toyama-ryu Iaido Federation. With over 27 years of experience, he has taught at overseas branches in the United States, Europe, and Hong Kong. He is one of the very few instructors in the world who has deeply mastered and continues to pass on both kenjutsu and yabusame. I am the assistant instructor at the All Japan Toyama-ryu Iaido Federation Headquarters Dojo, and also the assistant instructor for Yabusame, and I also perform Yabusame in armor. For the past 20 years, I have been teaching at overseas branches in the United States, Europe, and Asia several times a year. I have also been in charge of test cutting experiences for over 3,000 people, and experiences for foreign VIPs through embassies. This experience is not entertainment or street performance, but teaches real swordsmanship and spirit. Please join us if you want to experience it the right way and study the real thing.

You can experience beginner's classes in three areas: Iai, Gekken, and Ha-suji. Before the experience, a lecture will be given to deepen your understanding of swords. In Iai, you will use a mock sword to learn how to draw and sheathe the sword, and in Gekken, you will practice sparring using a special bamboo sword. In the Kyūjutsu lesson, you will shoot at the target with a bow and arrow that is actually used in Yabusame. In the Ha-suji lesson, you will check the Ha-suji of the blade.

Those who complete this experience will be issued a certificate of certification from the Toyama-ryu Bizen-kai.
