The "Sekida Mountains" where the Shinetsu Trail extends is Satoyama. Do you know about Shinetsu-Trail , north part of Nagano prefecture ?The Sekida Mountain ridges are one of the heaviest snowfall areas in the world. It is along the ridgeline of a forested area at an altitude of about1,000m.From early June to November you are able to walk the trail, as all the snow has melted.In early summer, the trail is beautiful with fresh green leaves and in late autumn as the days get colder, the leaves turn stunning colors.Currently, the trail has 6 Individual sections each between 8~12km. It takes approximately 6~7 hours to hike one section.Sections 1~6 total about 80km. A mountain called "Table Mountain" because of its gentle mountain shape like a table. The altitude is 1256m, and the roads are well maintained and easy to walk, so it is a popular mountain destination for Karuizawa residents. From the top you can see Mt. Asama close up and Mt. Fuji far away if it is clear. If you are lucky, you may meet an antelope on the way! ? The end of the trek is to Karuizawa's most scenic spot, "Kumobaike." Fresh green in the spring and autumn leaves in the autumn are reflected on the surface of the lake, giving a beautiful view of the four seasons. ●Plan for experienced SUP riders●Why not take a leisurely stroll on the water while enjoying the changing of the seasons? The best time to see the autumn leaves at Lake Aoki is from mid-October! If you're lucky, you might even be able to see the three-tiered autumn leaves with the Hakuba mountains! The water temperature will be cold, so this plan is for experienced SUP riders. *Wetsuits (adults only) are also available for rental at an additional cost (1,000 yen)!
