The opening of the winter smelt hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna depends on the weather and smelt resources. It was not opened in 2024 and 2023. It was opened in 2022, but not in 2021. This area is a cold region with a lot of snow. When there is a lot of snow, the snow acts as a cold protection and true ice does not form. Snow and ice form, but they cannot support the weight of a human. The hours for hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna are 7:00-16:00 (2025 is undecided). We accept hole fishing by request reservation from February 5th to February 16th, 2025, but please note that hole fishing may not be possible. There are two sets available: Winter Lake Nakatsuna Smelt Hole Fishing Set + Tempura Set Rental and Winter Lake Nakatsuna Smelt Hole Fishing Set. The Winter Lake Nakatsuna Smelt Hole Fishing Set + Tempura Set Rental includes a tempura set rental, so it is a recommended plan for those who want to casually enjoy smelt fishing and tempura! Even beginners can participate with peace of mind in the guided course. Available periods are 4/25-5/15, 9/10-10/25. If you would like a guided course, please contact us in advance to apply. This is for reservations only for fishing rowboats and foot turbo boats. Reservations for purposes other than fishing are not accepted. For non-fishing use, reservations will be accepted on the day at the facility. Opening period Lake Aoki will open as soon as the snowfall has subsided and boats can be taken out of the boathouse. Until November snowfall. Lake Nakatsuna: April 25th to October 25th. Until April 25th, operations may be suspended without notice depending on snowfall. Lake Aoki and Lake Nakatsuna: Half-day ticket for 3-person fishing rowboat for adults/1-day ticket for 3-person fishing rowboat for adults/season ticket for 3-person fishing rowboat, Lake Aoki: Half-day ticket for 3-person fishing foot turbo boat for adults/1-day ticket for 3-person fishing foot turbo boat for adults. Adults must be 12 years old or older, and 2 children aged 1 to 11 years old must be 1 adult. Lake Aoki can be used from sunrise to 16:45 (half-day ticket is at noon). Lake Nakatsuna can be used from sunrise to 16:30 (half-day ticket is at noon). Please inform us of your start time by 5:00 p.m. the day before.
