This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Next, you will make your own original lacquered chopsticks at the place where the craftsmen actually work. Think about the design of the chopsticks and paint them with real lacquer. You can experience authentic lacquer painting. The lacquer craftsmen will teach you carefully, so you can make them yourself until they are completed. You will surely be satisfied. It's fun. The Red Brick Sake Brewery in Oji, Tokyo, was built in 1904 as part of the newly established Sake Brewing Research Institute, a facility where cutting-edge technology was used to support the modernization and evolution of sake production. It is the only place in Japan where technical development and training related to sake production have been held for 120 years, and it is considered the ``sacred place for sake brewing'' because people who aspire to become sake brewers learned here. After that, the research institute was moved outside of Tokyo, but the symbolic red brick sake brewery remained and was designated as a national cultural property in 2014. It has roots that the first generation was a pottery specializing in ceramics, and even now, we are doing everything from creating the ceramics to painting. This program is a studio tour in which Ms. Ikika Asakura, the daughter of Mr. Isokichi Asakura, the fourth generation, explains the studio, gallery, and works.
