At the workshop, you'll learn about the history of Nishijin-ori and the techniques of its artisans while touching the actual weaving tools used. During the hand weaving experience, you'll weave a table center approximately 20cm x 30cm on a special hand loom. "Studio Seikan" is a facility with a workshop, shop and cafe, where you can visit the manufacturing site of Yamanaka lacquerware, experience woodturning, shop, and enjoy cafe and sweets with lacquerware. This course includes a workshop tour (with explanation) - making a vase - lacquerware experience at the cafe (one drink included). Lacquerware craftsmen work here every day. In this experience, you can observe them up close and learn about lacquerware production. The staff will explain it in an easy-to-understand way. Next, you will make your own original lacquered chopsticks at the place where the craftsmen actually work. Think about the design of the chopsticks and paint them with real lacquer. You can experience authentic lacquer painting. The lacquer craftsmen will teach you carefully, so you can make them yourself until they are completed. You will surely be satisfied. It's fun. Starting from Muikamachi Station, less than 2 hours from Tokyo, we'll cycle through Minamiuonuma's rice fields and Niigata's best spring water on our way to the Hakkaisan sake brewery, all with ease on e -bikes. At the brewery, we'll explore the story and tradition behind this premium sake, connecting centuries of craftsmanship, heavy snowfall, and pristine water. We'll enjoy a delicious meal featuring onigiri made from local rice (vegan option usually available ). On the way back, we'll stop at a traditional four-season Japanese park. We'll return to the station by 15:00, giving you time to explore the local onsen or head back to Tokyo.
