Shinano Discovery's snowshoeing tour. Enjoy a snowshoeing experience through the beautiful snow-covered forests of the Togakushi Shrine Okusha and the Kurohime Plateau. Lessons and clinics where I am told various things are a bit troublesome. But I want to check my own skating. I just want to see how I skate! I want to know! If so, this plan is recommended. You can skate the way you want, and we will take pictures (videos and still images) from in front of you or while following you. After the plan ends, it is possible to hand it over all at once, but since the amount of data will be quite large, it is usually uploaded to the free cloud by midnight (or the next day depending on the amount of data) after the plan ends. While snowshoe tours are popular, snowjiks are actually easier to walk on. In Japan, we also have claw-shaped snowjiks (not used on tours). A must-have in Japan's snow country is simply "amazing." The tour will take place once the snow depth reaches 50 cm and the undergrowth is hidden by snow. The 2025 Starry Sky: The Geminid meteor shower will peak around 5:00 PM on December 14th (the best viewing times are from late night on the 13th to early morning on the 14th and from late night on the 14th to early morning on the 15th). Many people are surprised by the physical strain of typical snowshoe tours. We wondered if there was a more casual and accessible way to experience a snowy forest. With that in mind, we developed a plan that offers a short but "authentic snowy forest experience" (although that may sound a bit exaggerated, lol), with no climbing, a physically less strenuous experience, and a stroll-like feel. The tour is quite leisurely, taking place in under 1.5 hours (though fast adults can complete it in about an hour). While the tour is stroll-like in duration and distance, you'll still experience a realistic and authentic forest. While taking photos and other activities, we hope you enjoy a short trek through a genuine snowy forest. *Please note* You'll be walking in snow, so please wear shoes suitable for walking in snow. (You can't walk in snow in regular shoes) I think the easiest way to move around is with ski wear and rubber boots (see photos of participants). Rubber boots that keep your toes warm (you can wear them as they are, but it will be more comfortable if you put in warm insoles, even simple ones sold at 100 yen stores. It is also better if the boots are long so that snow doesn't get in. If the snow is very deep, we will rent snowshoes for free, so I think it would be best to participate in snow boots or rubber boots.) Also, if you have your own snowshoes or poles, it will be "even more" comfortable if you bring them. (Of course, it's okay if you don't have them.)

We accept reservations for winter smelt hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna upon request, but please note that hole fishing may not be available at certain times. The opening of the winter smelt hole fishing season at Lake Nakatsuna depends on the weather and smelt resources. The season was closed in 2025, 2024, and 2023. The season was opened in 2022, but closed in 2021. This area is a cold region with heavy snowfall. When there is a lot of snow, the snow acts as a barrier and prevents true ice from forming. Although snow and ice form, they cannot support a person's weight. Hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna is available from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (2026 dates are yet to be determined). We offer a winter smelt hole fishing set with a tempura rental and a winter smelt hole fishing set. Mt. Takamine is set as a beginner's course. The first climb is a steep slope, but it is a relatively gentle hike along the ridge. Yatsugatake, and depending on the weather, you can even see Mt. Fuji. In particular, Mt. Takamine has a lot of experiences that can only be enjoyed when it is snowing! The gentle road along the ridge goes over the snow cornices, the food marks of animals, the footprints of walking, and so on.
