This course takes you all around the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park established and the largest naturally rich low-lying marsh in Japan with the largest horizontal extent. View the Kushiro Marsh from the eastern (western) observation deck, then walk along an unpaved road to the western (eastern) observation deck. If you are confident in your time and stamina, there are also some places you can walk (or climb?) to see, such as the Kottaro Marsh Observation Deck, Sarubo Observation Deck, and Yumegaoka Observation Deck. Along the way, you might encounter red-crowned cranes, Ezo deer, or Ezo red foxes (which appear irregularly).

In addition to observing the starry sky with the naked eye, astronomical observations using a Newton-type reflective telescope with a focal length of 800 mm and a diameter of 200 mm are also performed. What you see, such as stars, moons, and comets will change depending on the conditions of the day. If the weather is good, shooting stars can be seen frequently. Even if you are empty-handed, you can participate with your camera and your own telescope!

Mysterious Lake MashuThis is a course where you can see Lake Mashu, Mt. Iou, and Lake Kussharo. Mysterious Lake Mashu is worth a visit. Misty Lake Mashu is also famous (as a song says), but on a clear day the blue of the sky is reflected on the lake's surface, creating a spectacular view. Only Mashu No. 1 Observation Deck is available during the winter. On the way to Lake Mashu, you can also get a feel for the vastness of Hokkaido at Tawadaira, where you can see the horizon in a large panorama. You can eat Genghis Khan at Tawadaira. The view from Hosooka Observatory, also known as the "Great View," is spectacular, and on a clear day you can see the Akan Mountains. Watching the sunset from Hosooka Observatory has also become popular recently. The untouched Hosooka Observatory is an observation deck that cannot be reached by large tourist buses. There is also a course that combines the Norokko train ride, where you can ride one way through the marsh from Kushiro city to Hosooka Observatory to Kushiro city, and then take a taxi back to see the Kushiro Marsh from a different angle.

This is a course where you can see both the Kushiro Marsh, the 28th national park established as the largest "horizontally expanding" low-lying marsh in Japan, and the red-crowned cranes. You can see red-crowned cranes all year round at the Red-crowned Crane Nature Park near Kushiro Airport. We will guide you to the Red-crowned Crane, the god of the marsh, and the Kushiro Marsh Observation Deck. During the winter (December to the end of March), you can change the route to see wild red-crowned cranes gathering at Tsurumidai. During the snowy season, you will walk through Shiretoko National Park, a World Heritage Site, on snowshoes. If there is no snow, you will walk without snowshoes. This is a tour that walks around the three observatories on the east side of Kushiro Marsh National Park. Hosooka Observatory - Sarubo Observatory - Sarurun Observatory. Hosooka Observatory can be reached by car! Light trekking to Sarubo Observatory and Sarurun Observatory! During the trek, you will walk slowly while looking for plants and wild birds, so don't worry if you are not confident in your physical strength! ~Experience Flow~ (For the 9:30 course) Meet at JR Senmo Line Toya Station at 9:30 Please be at Toya Station at the start time of the tour. (If you are late, please let me know.) When we meet, we will park your car at Toya Station and move to Toro Station in my car. (Reception will be done in the moving car) 10:00 Arrive at Hosooka Observatory! Hosooka Observatory is a place where you can go by car. First, enjoy the scenery of the Kushiro Marsh and the Kushiro River. 10:20 Move to the next destination, Toro! It takes about 25 minutes from Hosooka Observatory to Toro. When we arrive at Toro around 10:45, we stop by the station and take a restroom break. 11:00 Arrive at the parking lot under the Salvo Observatory! After parking the car, it's about a 20 minute trek from here to the Sarubo Observatory. After seeing the scenery at 11:30, move to Sarurun Observatory! It takes about 25 minutes to trek to Sarurun Observatory. 11:55 Arrival at Sarurun Observatory! Drinks are available, so please relax while watching the scenery. Get off at the parking lot where you parked the car around 12:20. 12:50 After using the restroom at Toro Station, head to Toya Station. 13:30 Arrive at Toya Station! It will be dissolved as it is when you arrive.

This tour will take you on a drive to search for creatures that represent Shiretoko in winter. The main focus will be on large birds of prey, such as Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, which are designated as natural monuments and visit Shiretoko in winter. You can use binoculars and telescopes to observe their fearless faces as they stare intently at the sea and rivers, searching for prey, and you may even see them diving into the sea to hunt fish. The excitement of finding a large eagle with a body length of 1m and a wingspan of over 2m will be an unforgettable memory. During this tour, you may also encounter Ezo deer and red foxes. *The number of eagles seen will decrease from mid- to late March. *The tour will mainly be by car, but we will occasionally get off the car to observe. Please wear shoes that can walk on snow (snow boots, ankle-length boots, boots, etc.). *Binoculars are available for free rental (no application required).
