This plan will be experienced at "NOIR CAFÉ", an atelier surrounded by plants owned by Miki Takeuchi, a lecturer of the Sanbon Oeda school of incense art and a flower designer. Many people ask about the art of incense art, and one of them is the ancient group incense called "Genjiko". In all schools, "Genjiko" is still practiced today. The design of the answer (listening name) based on the 54 plasters of the Tale of Genji is famous as "Genjiko no zu", a traditional Japanese pattern that is used in various traditional Japanese patterns such as lacquerware and kimonos. In this experience, you will be able to experience a digest of what Genjiko is like at an incense gathering, and how to listen to the scent and give an answer. Sitting upright is difficult, and incense gatherings are difficult to get into. However, this plan allows those who are interested in what Genjiko is like to fully experience it. After enjoying Genjiko, you will create your own fragrance like the aristocrats of the Heian period when the Tale of Genji was written. As the Tale of Genji also depicts fragrance-themed scenes, aristocrats would burn original fragrances in their kimonos. In this plan, you will blend your own original natural fragrances and make a sachet. The completed sachet will be placed in a special paulownia box designed and arranged by top designer Miki Takeuchi and filled with dried flowers associated with the Tale of Genji, and you can take it home as a special incense burner. After the experience, we will prepare edible incense. We will offer you medicinal tea and incense sweets. Please spend an elegant time in an extraordinary time warp for both body and mind.

Surrounded by nature at the foot of a small hill, Shunyoso shows off the graceful expressions of the four seasons that are unique to Japanese-style architecture. The owner, who is also a certified old house appraiser, will guide you through the house and explain the traditional techniques that are difficult to reproduce today, the design that highlights the playfulness of the craftsmen, and the immeasurable historical and cultural value. After the tour, Shunyoso will quickly transform into a sweets shop. Enjoy an elegant moment with tea and Japanese sweets in an elegant space. Shunyoso is a masterpiece of modern Japanese architecture that was designed in 1941 by architect Toyoen Yamamoto, an authority on the study of home orientation, based on the ideas of feng shui, and was completed over a period of seven years by local carpenter Sankichi Saito and others. Further on, in 1983, the walls, gateposts, doors and gardens were renovated by architect Izue Hiroshi, who was even called a "master" by the famous architect Kurokawa Kisho, and they now harmonize beautifully to create a magnificent architectural landscape. The vast grounds of 1320m2 (approximately 1,400m2) contain eight buildings, including the guest house, storehouse, reception hall, sleeping hall and permanent residence, and in 2004 it was designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and in 2017 it was designated as an important structure for the formation of the Hyogo Prefectural Landscape. However, with the aging of the population and a social trend in recent years that only pursues efficiency, it became difficult for the previous owner to maintain and manage the buildings, and they gradually deteriorated, leading to a long period of time when the gates were closed. The turning point came in 2015. In order to preserve this precious cultural asset for future generations, the fourth-generation owner purchased it and began repairs and renovations. Finally, in October 2016, Shunyo-so was revived and reborn as a new international tourist resource for Awaji Island. In this experience program, the owner himself will guide you through the house, explaining the charms of the house, such as the traditional techniques that are difficult to reproduce today, the building materials that are also difficult to obtain today, the designs that highlight the playfulness of the craftsmen scattered throughout, and the elegant furnishings, based on the historical background of Shunyo-so. Please enjoy this space, which is filled with history and culture and represents the best of traditional techniques, to the fullest. After the tour, you will be served tea and Japanese sweets in the tea room or one of your choice. Please enjoy not only as a precious cultural asset, but also as a sweet shop. *Guides in English are also available, so we can accommodate customers from overseas. *A five-minute walk from Shunyoso is the historic and prestigious "Takenoguchi Hachiman Shrine," which celebrated its 1,100th anniversary in 2021. A full-scale training tour of "Sumo", Japan's national sport. There are various rules for watching sumo training, and if you watch alone, you will often be warned by officials and wrestlers, and in the worst case, you may be forced to leave. At "Sumo Pro", we will accompany you with a guide who is familiar with sumo. In order not to make you feel uneasy, we will enter between the sumo stable and the customer, so you can watch with peace of mind. In addition, a dedicated guide will provide explanations in writing during the training. Although it is strict, you may get bored just by watching the monotonous training, but we will explain in detail what they are doing and what they are talking about. Unlike other companies, it is not a tour that just lets you watch. We have planned it with the aim of making it fun for customers to understand "sumo". We hope you will use it. *Normally, private conversations are strictly prohibited during training observations, but our interpreters will communicate in writing (in English) to answer questions from customers, such as explanations of the current training content, conversations between the masters, explanations of matches, and questions from customers. After the training, you can also communicate with the active wrestlers through the guide, and we will answer questions until your questions are resolved. Unlike training observations where you just watch the training and then it's over, we will have a guide specialized in sumo accompanying you and guiding you to the end. ~How it works~① Contact us the day before the day to let us know the location of the sumo stable you will be visiting, the meeting time, and important points.② On the day of the observation, meet at the entrance to the sumo stable. *Please be punctual.③ Observe the training for about 40 minutes to 1 hour (the observation time will vary depending on the training content and the physical condition of the wrestlers).④ During the observation, questions will be answered by writing with the English interpreter guide.⑤ After the training, take a commemorative photo with the wrestlers and answer questions in front of the entrance.⑥ Disband in front of the entrance to the sumo stable. *Please be sure to read the "Important points" and "Special notes" at the bottom of this page, and apply only if you agree. Please note that we will assume that you have agreed to all of the above when you apply. *The images are for reference only. The number of wrestlers participating in practice and the content of the practice may vary depending on the sumo stable you visit or the time of the visit. Please note that the health of the wrestlers takes top priority during practice.
