This alley was formed as a market for street vendors during the chaotic period after the war, and is now packed with around 60 restaurants, including motsuyaki and yakitori restaurants.

It started as a black market during the postwar period of chaos, and has since become known as an area with a Showa-era atmosphere, with rows of wooden tenement houses. The narrow alleys are packed with around 300 unique bars and izakayas, and it is also famous as a place visited by many cultural figures and artists.

Opening on April 14, 2023 in Shinjuku Kabukicho, this super high-rise complex combines a hotel and entertainment facility. With 48 floors above ground and 5 floors below, and a height of approximately 225m, it houses a hotel, a cinema, a theater, a live music venue, and more.
