[Experience Shirakami's Nature, Food, and People: Experience Local Experiences] The Shirakami-Sanchi Mountains straddle Akita and Aomori prefectures, and its center was Japan's first designated World Heritage Site. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and visit Fujisato to experience Shirakami's nature, food, and people. ★Onigiri Workshop This is an experience where you can chat and enjoy using delicious Akita rice and local ingredients together with Ako, the owner of the guesthouse Damakkoya, who is an expert in making onigiri and picking wild vegetables and mushrooms. ★Onigiri Lunch After the workshop, enjoy lunch in a bento box of onigiri wrapped in bamboo bark. The instructor of the "Onigiri Workshop" will be Akiko Muraoka. She is a master chef born and raised in Fujisato Town and the owner of the guesthouse Damakkoya. You will make onigiri using ingredients from Shirakami, including wild plants that Akiko picked herself.
