Plan description

The Mito Plum Festival, one of the largest festivals in Mito City, is celebrating its 129th anniversary this year, and a new night event, Kairakuen UME The Lights, will be held at the festival, where you can enjoy 3,000 plum trees of about 100 varieties! The world of yin and yang that Tokugawa Nariaki, the founder of Kairakuen, instilled in Kairakuen will be expressed in a way that is unique to the night with new lighting. In addition, various food stalls, food trucks, and special booths will be lined up at the venue and its surrounding area. There will also be a menu exclusive to the Plum Festival, so please enjoy this in addition to the lighting.

If you arrive by train

・20 minutes by bus from JR Mito Station. Take the bus bound for the History Museum and Kairakuen from bus stop number 4 (Ibaraki Kotsu) at the north exit of Mito Station. Get off at "Kairakuen East Gate/Tokiwa Shrine North Approach" or "Kairakuen/Tokiwa Shrine Front" and walk for about 3 minutes. ・Take the bus bound for Kairakuen from bus stop number 6 (Kanto Railway) at the north exit of JR Mito Station. Get off at the last stop "Kairakuen" and walk for about 5 to 10 minutes.
