AKITA:2-day Tour :Mt. Moriyoshi(juhyo) and Visit Samurai town and Brewery

"Mt. Moriyoshi" is one of the three major spots for viewing frost-covered trees in Japan, along with Zao. Take a gondola to the top of the mountain and take a stroll to view the frost-covered trees.Enjoy the spectacular winter scenery of Japan. Departing February 17, 2025 and returning on the 18th, this is a two-day, one-night English-guided tour. We will travel to Mt. Moriyoshi on a cute Japanese local train.Enjoy the scenery from the train window. After lunch, we will view the frost-covered trees on Mt. Moriyoshi. Please dress warmly.After viewing, we will have dinner at our accommodation. Our accommodation is Japanese traditional hotel with hot spring where you can feel the Matagi or local bear hunter culture.Warm up in the natural hot springs and feel the rural lifestyle.On the second day, we will travel by bus to visit the samurai residences of Kakunodate. Feel the history of Japan. After free time, enjoy a lunch of roast pork and Inaniwa udon noodle. After lunch, we will visit Suzuki Sake Brewery, the oldest sake brewery in Akita. Enjoy a tour of traditional Japanese sake brewing, registered by UNESCO.This is a two-day, one-night trip that will let you fully enjoy winter in Japan.

On the first day of the tour, you will board a gondola to view Japan's three largest frost-covered trees on Mt. Moriyoshi. Enjoy the spectacular winter scenery of Japan. Snowshoes are available for rental, but there are a limited number available. The summit is very cold, so please dress warmly as if you were going skiing. We recommend bringing a hat, gloves, scarf, and boots. If the gondola is not operating due to bad weather, you may not be able to view the frost-covered trees.

On the first day of the tour, on the way to Mount Moriyoshi, board the Akita Nairiku Line and enjoy the winter scenery from the train window. A bento lunch will be provided. Enjoy a truly Japanese train journey.On the second day of the tour, you will visit Kakunodate, a famous samurai residence in Japan. In addition to a free stroll, you will also visit the Aoyagi Residence, a samurai residence that represents Kakunodate. You will learn about the life and history of local samurai.

We will tour the sake brewery at Suzuki Sake Brewery, the oldest sake brewery in Akita. You can deepen your knowledge of Japanese culture by touring the brewery where traditional sake brewing is carried out, which is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. You can also sample sake and purchase souvenirs.
