Plan description

In the harsh winter, the sea of Shiretoko is covered with ice. You can walk on the ice wearing dry suits that are excellent at keeping you warm and waterproof. Drift ice is essential for the creatures living in Shiretoko. One step on the ice and you are in the world of wild animals. By putting on a special suit, you can step into the world of creatures that live with the ice. Drift ice walk is an activity that can only be experienced in the Utoro area of the Shiretoko Peninsula for only one and a half months. Why not experience the lives of creatures woven by the drift ice? You will surely be captivated by the sights you never imagined before participating.

Dress code - Must bring items <Head> Warm knit hat * Sunglasses and goggles are useful on sunny days. <Clothing> Fleece, sweater, thermal innerwear (please bring long sleeves, thin to thick, depending on the temperature) * Hooded items and thick turtlenecks are not allowed (as they will be uncomfortable around the neck when wearing a dry suit) * Fleece or down jackets with long hair are not allowed (as they may get caught or damaged) <Pants> Pants that are easy to move in * In addition to thick pants, tights or other layers are required. * Skirts are not allowed <Shoes> There are no specific specifications for shoes, as you will be wearing a dedicated dry suit with integrated shoes. <Socks> Long and thick socks * Please bring long socks, as you will be tucking your pants into your socks when wearing a dry suit. ★★Clothing Precautions★★ Please remove all watches and accessories as they may be lost or damaged. You will wear a waterproof, cold-resistant dry suit, but please wear warm clothes. ★★About who can participate★★■Height: 130cm-190cm■Weight: up to 110kg■Age: elementary school age or older, under 75 years old■The tour requires the same level of physical strength as a hiker. In addition, the tour is only for people who can manage themselves on the ice. ■There is a risk of falling or getting injured due to slippery ice or stepping through the ice, so please participate within your limits, especially for elderly people. ■You will wear a warm dry suit, but the outside temperature may be -20 degrees, and you may come into contact with cold water. In particular, if you have a serious illness such as heart disease, please consider participating only after receiving sufficient consent in writing from a doctor.
