This trip allows you to learn the basics of pottery techniques at Kuno Touen, the birthplace of Kasama ware and a cultural asset that is a part of the Japan Heritage Site, through the 250-year history of Kuno Touen, explanations of the pottery process, and various experiences (clay making, kneading chrysanthemums, using the potter's wheel, hand-kneading, making sake cups, and using a small kiln). For lodging, stay at Kamenoi Hotel Tsukuba-san, where you can enjoy regional cuisine unique to northern Kanto and the beauty-enhancing hot springs that spring from the foot of Mount Tsukuba, one of Japan's 100 famous mountains.

Kuno Touen: the birthplace of Kasama ware Kuno Touen is the oldest kiln in the Kanto region, where potters from Shigaraki came to make pottery between 1772 and 1781 and are known as the birthplace of Kasama ware. The 14-chambered climbing kiln for firing pottery is a cultural asset designated by Kasama City and is also recognized as a constituent cultural asset of the Japanese Heritage site "Kasamashiko" (Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture and Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture).
Learn techniques from a ceramic artist With 250 years of history and a cultural heritage of Japan as a backdrop, you can have a valuable experience learning directly from a potter. From explanations of the pottery process, to clay making, kneading chrysanthemums, experience on the potter's wheel, hand-building, making sake cups, and experiencing a small kiln, you can learn the basic techniques and authentic techniques of pottery in depth.
A warm welcome with Japanese tea On the first day of the tour, you will be welcomed with a comfortable Japanese tea set. The aroma and taste of Japanese tea will help you relax and begin the tour.
On the final day, enjoy a local Italian lunch On the last day of your pottery experience, you will finish off with an Italian meal using local ingredients. Enjoy dishes made with fresh local ingredients, bringing out the best in the flavors of the ingredients, in a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
It will be fired in a climbing kiln in December. All works other than the sake cups fired in the small kiln will be ready for delivery after being fired in the climbing kiln in December (scheduled for the end of the year).

Dinner: Japanese and Western buffet 17:30-21:00 (last order 20:30) Ibaraki Prefecture is home to many of Japan's finest ingredients, so enjoy grilled Hitachi beef shabu-shabu, mushroom hotpot using local mushrooms, natto cutlet, as well as Sankai-don rice bowls that you can arrange in your own way using ingredients from Ibaraki, and a live corner where you can eat freshly cooked food.
A breakfast buffet with a wide variety of dishes From 7:00, it is a buffet style with a focus on Japanese cuisine. <Breakfast specialties> In addition to dishes made with carefully selected Ibaraki ingredients such as shabu-shabu made with Ibaraki's brand pork "Hitachi no Kagayaki" and Chinese cabbage, Tsukuba udon, miso soup with Hinumayama and clams, and a comparison of three types of natto, we also offer a wide range of standard breakfast dishes, including the Kamenoi Group's common menu items such as auspicious rice and cold chawanmushi with soft-shelled turtle and chicken breast.
