An integrated production system from breeding to rearing pure black pigs of the British Berkshire breed. The "Koedo Kurobuta" was born as a result of the knowledge and research that Ohno Farm has cultivated over about 40 years. The unique "taste" and "sweetness" that only black pigs have. "Koedo Kurobuta" is also particular about the feed and water. ・The pigs are raised with care and love, using Kawagoe's famous sweet potatoes and bread soaked in plenty of milk. ・The blessings of the Chichibu mountains, groundwater (underflow water, drinkable) is pumped up from 100 meters underground. ・No antibiotics are used, and the pigs are raised in a way that coexists with nature, adapting to seasonal and temperature changes and not causing stress to the pigs.

Compared to other domestic black pork, Koedo Kurobuta pork has a very tender texture and remains juicy even when cooked. The lean meat has a high fat content (marbling) and excellent fat quality (fatty acid composition), giving the fat a sweet taste and aroma. In addition, the muscle fibers are finely textured, have excellent water retention, and are easy to bite into.
