Plan description

This time, it will be a tea ceremony performance in the garden of the History and Culture Exchange Center, a hidden spot in Kamakura with deep ties to the samurai family. The event will be held at Flow-an (Ikusaku Watanabe), a mobile artistic tea room that is illuminated. Our style of tea ceremony is a tea ceremony performed by samurai families, and incorporates movements that are connected to the martial arts of samurai. Enjoy samurai-style tea ceremony in Kamakura, the samurai capital.

■Tea x Art Flow-an

The mobile tea room is made from a combination of construction site piping and agricultural fabric. It can be assembled and moved in about half a day. The tea room, a once-in-a-lifetime, extraordinary space, is now movable, further emphasizing the eternity of the moment. Many other ASAL artists are also exhibiting their works.

■Kamakura, the birthplace of the tea ceremony

Tea began when the Zen monk Eisai brought it to Kamakura. Kamakura has the largest number of beautiful celadon tea bowls from that time discovered in Japan. You can receive a lecture about the exhibits from the curators of the History and Culture Exchange Center.

■A moment away from everyday life

After the performance, you can enjoy tea. We hope you will enjoy a quiet time away from everyday life while enjoying warm matcha and sweets surrounded by nature with autumn leaves. Please feel free to visit us.
