Plan description

Omishima, located almost in the center of the Setonaikai National Park, which attracts travelers from all over the world with its beautiful scenery consisting of islands of various sizes, is called the "National Treasure Island" and has been the main shrine of Japan since ancient times. The revered Oyamazumi Shrine is enshrined here. Oyamazumi Shrine has Japan's oldest surviving armor used in the Battle of Dannoura, which is a national treasure. The collection includes swords and armor donated by the imperial family and successive generations of famous generals from the Kamakura period to the Warring States period, and 80% of the armor that has been designated as a national treasure or important cultural property of Japan (8 national treasures, nationally designated important cultural properties). 682 points) treasures have been preserved in their original form. ●In this tour, all the treasures of Oyamazumi Shrine will be specially released. Talk show where Japanese sword expert Paul Martin talks with the chief priest about "sword culture"

Paul Martin Biography: Born in England. Previously worked as a curator at the British Museum, and currently serves as a councilor and researcher at the Japanese Sword Culture Promotion Association. He is also an expert certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and contributes to the Sankei Shimbun's "JAPAN-Forward." In 2016 and 2018, he became the first foreigner to win the Japanese sword appraisal contest sponsored by the Sword Museum. He has appeared in many documentaries around the world and translated books on major Japanese swords. He is also well versed in Japanese martial arts.
