Kutani Kobo has many ceramic boxes filled with the traditions of Kinzan kiln, and they have many fans for the worldview and charm of their works, and they use gold leaf that they create independently (Kinrande). ) Nishikiyama kiln pursues works. Yoshida Yoshida, the second generation, is widely known as a Living National Treasure of Kutani ware. In this program, you can make an original ring case that you can use for a lifetime based on the traditional techniques cultivated at Kinzan Kiln, which can be said to be a transcendent skill. *For foreign nationals: Information on the day will be in Japanese only.
You will make an original Kutani ware small box using Kinrande, a technique that has been passed down from generation to generation at Nishikiyama Kiln. Not only can it be used as a ring case for engagement rings, wedding rings, etc., but it can also be used as an accessory case for pierced earrings and earrings. You can also use it as a ring pillow for a once-in-a-lifetime memorial such as a wedding by laying it on the floor. (*The ring bed is made of turmeric (turmeric-dyed fabric), which is used to wrap precious Kutani ware.)
This program will be produced in a corner of the studio that is not normally accessible. In the space where craftsmen usually work, you can create while being surrounded by Kutani ware and tools that are actually being produced. Before starting production, you can also visit the workshop.
On the day of the exhibition, after the production, you can also visit Gallery Dandan, which is currently holding the "Ukiyo Exhibition" special exhibition. The gallery also accepts consultations on souvenirs and gifts, so please feel free to ask about Kutani ware with original backmarks.
