Free walk in Shirakawa-go. At your own pace, you can stop by your favorite gassho-zukuri houses! From April 2023 onwards, it will be decided to drop in at the entrance to Shirakawa-go, Michi-no-Eki Shirakawa-go! There is also a "Gassho Museum" that you can visit for free, so you can prepare for the Gassho-zukuri style house! If you take a tour before sightseeing, the fun of visiting the villages will deepen even more! In addition, we have a wide variety of souvenirs such as Shirakawa-go original sweets, processed foods, and local sake from the Hida region. If you buy souvenirs before walking around Shirakawa-go, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll! *Michi-no-Eki Shirakawago is closed from December 29th to January 1st. On regular holidays, we will stop by Yottekare Johana (Toyama Prefecture).
●Gokayama Kaminashi area will be added from April 2023! Head to the Gokayama Kaminashi area, known as Kokiriko no Sato, the largest village in the Gokayama area. You can see "Exile hut" and "Hakusangu", the oldest wooden building in Toyama prefecture. Although it is not a World Heritage Site, it is one of the areas that you cannot miss when learning about Gokayama. ●World Heritage Gokayama Ainokura Village Free walk in Gokayama Ainokura Village. Other notifications | [Note] From April 28, 2023 (Friday), buses will no longer be able to enter the Shirakawa-go Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory, which was originally scheduled to be visited. We apologize for the inconvenience, but you can walk to the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory (about 10 to 15 minutes one way), or use the paid shuttle bus in front of the tour facility Wada House (200 yen one way, payable locally). Please use it. As a result, the free walking time in Shirakawa-go will be extended by about 30 minutes, but there will be no change in arrival time at Kanazawa Station. No refunds will be given for itinerary changes. |
