In this program, we will observe the technology-based agriculture of Honda Farm, which mainly grows tomatoes. ~ Flow of the day ~ Tour inside the tomato house: You will visit the site of tomato cultivation using ICT * For foreigners: Information on the day is only in Japanese.

You can tour the site of next-generation agriculture by utilizing ICT

Honda Farm, which mainly grows tomatoes, has introduced ICT that visualizes the environment inside the house with the cooperation of the local community and JA Komatsu City. It is said that many people have learned how to respond to the weather, which they have relied on until now, by visualizing not only the scales that humans can experience, such as temperature and humidity, but also CO2, illuminance, and various numerical values calculated from them. In this program, you can observe how such new technology is utilized in tomato production in the field.

Know the challenge of recycling agriculture

Honda Farm is pursuing the next generation of agriculture by incorporating new technology, but on the other hand, it is also engaged in steady activities to utilize the kitchen waste from local school lunches as compost. It is said that it actually takes more time than buying fertilizer, but Honda Farm is a recycling-type agriculture that should be connected to the next generation by circulating the garbage generated in the area and returning it to the soil while improving production efficiency by utilizing technology. Mr. Masahiro Honda of the company will speak.
