Plan description

Learn how to make a traditional Japanese toy "Itaya horse" from product designer En. Itaya horse is a local toy in Kakunodate-machi, Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, which has a history of more than 200 years since the Edo period. The original material is a young tree of Acer mono. It is made by chopping wood into small pieces and knitting them. In this workshop, we will use paper bags and wrapping paper that are no longer needed as materials and upcycle them as an interior. The finished Itaya horse can not only be displayed on the wall, but can also be made to stand by spreading its legs a little. Choose your favorite shop or color paper bag and create your own original work. Even small children can enjoy it, so parents and children are welcome to participate. * This experience is a hybrid workshop where participants of the real experience at Tsukiji Studio in Tokyo and the online experience using the web conferencing application are connected at the same time. All you need is a simple tool and your sense! Why don't you enjoy making oriental modern art?
