Plan description

This plan is a plan with accommodation + experience. Eihei-ji Temple Shinzen no Yado Hakujukan is a place where you can experience the world of Zen, such as zazen like a shukubo and authentic shōjin ryō, in a comfortable facility and service like an inn. (It gets cold in winter, so it is recommended to wear warm clothes.) After the experience, relax in the large communal bath. At the restaurant, enjoy the ingenious devoted cuisine and Echizen's famous sake. Eiheiji Hakujukan is an inn where you can experience Zen, get familiar with Echizen's hospitality, and heal your mind. Check-in: 14:00 / Check-out: 10:00

◆ "Morning maiden", memorial service

In a lecture hall called Hatto, about 100 monks witness a place to read sutras for training and read the sutras aloud and burn incense together. After the event, the Zen Concierge will guide you through the quiet precincts before the gate opens. Meeting time: 4:40 / Start time: 5:10

◆ Zazen experience

It will be held at Daihonzan Eiheiji Temple from 15:30. Guests staying at Kashiwagiseki can experience zazen for free. It may be closed due to the circumstances of the event.

If you arrive by train

From "Eiheijiguchi Station" on the Echizentetsu Railway / Katsuyama Eiheiji Line, change to the Keifuku Bus bound for "Eiheiji Monzen" or "Eiheiji" and get off at the end point, then walk for 5 minutes.
