Breakfast at Shiogama Wholesale Fish Market (Nakaoroshi Market). Make your own ‘Kaisen-don’ (Seafood Bowl) by choosing your favourite toppings from the fresh seafood on sale at the market.

Taxi into the Shiogama town area for a foodie walking tour.

Foodie Stop 1: Doraemon’s favourite sweets ‘Dorayaki’ (sweet pancake filled with red-bean cream) at Shiogama’s famous ‘Kasho Eitaro’ store, established over 100 years ago (1909).

Foodie Stop 2: Sake tasting at Urakasumi Sake Brewery. Taste and compare three different local sakes from one of Miyagi Prefectures finest breweries.

Foodie Stop 3: ‘Kamaboko’ fishcake from local specialty store ‘Abehei Kamaboko’. Here we will pick up some freshly made fish-cakes and save them for pairing with sake at Foodie Stop 4!

11:10 Visit the mysterious ‘Okama-jinja’ Shrine, with ancient salt pots that can predict disasters!

Foodie Stop 4: More sake tasting at ‘Kumakyu’ local liquour store. Here you can pair your tasty Kamaboko fishcake with a well-matched sake!
