■ What is Iaido?
Iaido is a martial art that originated from Jinsuke Shigenobu Hayashizaki about 450 Year ago.
It has been developed as a technique to remove the sword when it is attacked by the enemy without removing the sword and to kill the enemy.
The era of war is over, and the characteristics of Iaido that can respond flexibly from a state of not being in battle
Sublimated into the spirit of "technique that does not fight" that does not hurt the opponent unnecessarily, the elevated things have influenced Bushido.
Iaido is used widely as a martial art that is used by both men and women of all ages to train their mind and body and to lead their daily lives because they use their mind and body reasonably.

The dojo where you can experience Iaido is at the Shinbukan Dojo. The dojo is located next to Iai Shrine, the number one shrine in Japan where the founder of Iaido, Hayashizaki Shigenobu, is enshrined. Murayama City, Yamagata Prefecture, is the birthplace of Hayashizaki Shigenobu and is known as the birthplace and sanctuary of Iaido.

Experienced instructors of Muso Shinden-ryu and sword-drawing will teach you kindly and politely from the beginning. You can learn and practice not only the technical aspects of Iaido, but also the actions that can be used in daily life and the spirit of "non-fighting techniques."

Iaido is a martial art that anyone, regardless of age or sex, can participate in because it is a technique for rationally manipulating the mind and body and does not rely on muscle strength. Even if you are not confident in your physical strength, you can easily improve your physical strength and sense of balance by repeating daily actions such as "seiza" and "standing". Furthermore, swinging the sword with the whole body improves the muscle strength of the whole body. The practice of Iaido is centered on repeating the "shape" that has been passed down since ancient times. In the process, you can improve your mental strength by acquiring selfishness and training your mental movements such as your imagination against potential enemies and dangers. By gaining that power, you may be able to see yourself differently than usual.
