[Maple picking in Japan's snow country] Let's collect and taste maple syrup in the snowy forests of Japan. In this program, you will walk through a deep snowy forest on snowshoes to collect tree sap, which is the source of maple syrup. The "Itaya maple" tree protects itself by releasing a lot of sap to prevent it from freezing in winter when the temperature is low. Get some of the sap and make maple syrup. See what kind of trees produce maple syrup and whether the sap tastes sweet as it is. It may look like there are only snow and trees in the forest, but if you look carefully, you can actually feel the activities of various animals and plants. A dedicated guide will guide you, so anyone can enjoy the snowy mountains in winter with peace of mind. *Those who do not have snow boots can rent them for free. Please let us know your foot size in the remarks column of the application. [Enjoy maple syrup and pancakes on the snow] When the sap comes back, it's time to camp on the snow with a bonfire. Boil down the sap you collect yourself to make original maple syrup, and bake pancakes using pesticide-free local Koshihikari rice flour from Uonuma. Let's taste luxuriously with homemade maple syrup on freshly baked pancakes. Please experience a new way to enjoy the winter forest while enjoying the bonfire at the day camp. *Only Japanese and English are supported.
