Take a walk around  Kusasenri valley which is 1150 meters above sea level and enjoy stargazing.
The tour guide will talk about Aso myths and stories behind the seasonal constellations.
Enjoy the tranquility of the nature under the starlight.

阿蘇火山博物館

草千里ヶ浜の正面にある、阿蘇火山の全てがわかる博物館で、阿蘇の植物、昆虫、鉱物などの自然や歴史を紹介しています。
阿蘇中岳火口に設置された特殊カメラで火口の中を生中継する大型ビジョンや、阿蘇の大自然を写す迫力のマルチスクリーンなどがあります。
火口周辺立入規制時でも、火口内部を観察できます。

草千里ヶ浜

約3万年前に形成された直径約1kmの火口の中に、約400mの火口が生じた二重の火口。
現在、2つの池が見られますが、西側の池が外側の火口底、東側の池が内側の火口です。
内側の火口は、デイサイト質の溶岩ドームが吹き飛ばされたものであり、その一部が「駒立山」として残っています。
草千里ヶ浜火山の噴出物である軽石は、近傍では溶結火砕岩となっていますが、少し離れると厚い軽石層として認められます。
